Default NickS: I saw your post last sat. about a leak you found...

I may have the same leak. Did you have a LOT of oil residue on the plastic liner like so...

My car is still at service and they're still trying to find where the oil leak is coming from. I'm curious if you got yours fixed and what they found? TIA.

Default Not that much.

It was on the bottom side of the tranny and not really on the bellypan. I'm pretty sure it was motor oil though.

Default I jussssssst got a phone call from dealer and they....

replaced the crankshaft seal. I ran a quick search here on AW on both A4/S4 forums and found it to be a most common source of leak.

Default thats what they replaced on mine... after they told me they found no leak!!

i had to yell at the tech on the phone to get him to look at the car again. as soon as i told him i had proof of oil dripping from my car, he said "oh, i found the leak right as we were speaking!" what a joke.

Default Less than 2 hours. They called me to say there was no leak at like 3pm

(then i bitched them out) and then at 4:30 they called and said the car would be ready for 5pm.

they said center differential seal, but i assume they are the same thing. they also said it was a common source of leaks and that they replace them frequently. my question to the guy was "why the hell didn't you look there first?!?!"!

Default okay I was just curious since...

I'd think it would take a few days (2 days) to fix something like this ??
