Ok, with rising gas (especially race gas prices) who is going to be the first with an e85 tune?

60# injectors and an 044 should be more than enough for a k04 tune. Definitately something that I would love to run. 105 octane, cleaner burning and lower prices. Seems like it would be a viable option with switch technology.

Uhh no. It has 20-25% less energy. Big difference. Alot more power can be made on e85 versus 91/93.

Default Being that gas prices we had in 04 were under $2 and continue to go higher here for no apparent

reason, I will complain. Additionally, we have more oil per capita than europe, so that makes me not feel so bad for europe.

Default Hey db. 25% loss of power with the different fuel can always be made up in other areas. The fact,,,,

is that u will be getting less efficiency and burning fuel quicker with e85 to get the same power as 93. The power made on e85 or 93oct is endless just how much do u wanna use.

We don't have an E85 pump anywhere near us. But we would like to do a tune.

Default E85 has higher octane so you can advance timing significantly. It has less energy so it means you

have to burn more of it to achieve the same mileage.

Correctly tuned, an E85 car can net significant power gains over 91/93.

Default "No apparent reason". China and India is an apparent reason. You add 3 billion cars/drivers to the

market and prices are going to go up. Also, keep in mind that oil is denominated in US DOLLARS per barrel. The US dollar is super, super low against other currencies right now. So it takes roughly the same amount of euros to buy one barrel, but whole lot more US dollars (not entirely true--- prices have gone up in euro terms also, but you get the general point).

Domestic production has little to do with the gasoline price disparity. Europe has access to some of the biggest and cheapest reserves in the world (Russia and Norway), compared with the US reserves which are increasingly smaller plays and more technical and expensive to extract.

The price disparity between europe and US for gasoline simply comes down to taxes. Same as the disparity in prices between CA / WA / OR (which have several import terminals and refineries, so supply is NOT a problem in those states). They're taxes are much higher, so gas costs more.
