It's the same as a WRX but with better looking body and...
slightly different damping the shocks and steering ratio. Interior is still crap and engine/drivetrain remains the same. Basically, ask yourself if you would trade the S4 for a good-looking WRX (no)....tranny issues, loose steam at high speeds, etc. also come to mind.

Yup, subie friends call it the Saabaru. Looks better than a WRX, but still has the interior feel.
I personally prefer the new Legacy GT's, same engine as the STi just slightly detuned and possibly a couple other things. MOST bolt ons for the STi will fit on the Legacy with minor mods so I have heard.

went to check out the deal. looks better (imho) on the outside than the scoobie, but that's it. interior still sucks ****, and it is just a cheap tin can with fugly plastic on the inside. my $0.02.

I hear you but I still think the Legacy is garbage too...
I'm probably eternally spoiled with the S4 but I just found the Legacy large and imprecise. The interior is better than the WRX but still had a couple of annoying things (odd placement of e-brake, and door handle, etc). It's nice for what it is.

I agree with you to a point. I think it is a nice car.
I came from a 2000 Legacy and spotted my S4 for a decent price. Obviously I jumped to the S4. When I was approaching the 100k mark recently I went back and looked at the new Legacy GT's. Nice cars for what they are, and much improved over older versions, even my BE (2000), with a decent amount of power, but just wasnt good enough for me to get out of my S4 for it. Very nice cars, just not in the same league as an Audi.
