probably a dumb question, but for anyone who has done a BBK upgrade
#15
i'm not so convinced you couldn't
i just think its probably more cost effective and simpler to buy an aftermarket part than custom fab a carrier and try to compensate for the change in brake bias
maybe one of our brake gurus could explain what exactly would be needed to make this work (at least as an academic argument).

forget e-brake for a minute, all im trying to say is...
the stock brakes are about 12.5"f and 10.5"r
when you do a full kit upgrade, if im not mistaken you also get 4 piston calipers on the back....
now considering most wont plunge $5300.00 for a front and rear kit, i for one went with a 14" BBK up front from Stoptech and now i wanna have less of a bias, so i figured, why not move the front stock rotors with cali's to the back?
im sure it has to be possible...and im not worried about the ebrake cause ive seen systems on modded Porsches with 2 calipers in the back on each side just for e-brake...
just figuring that the bias should even out that way, and i dont mind trying it, even if im wrong and i might do 180's and 360's (miss my S/C s2000 for that reason)
at least ill try to do it before i plunge for the rears

i don't doubt screwing with brake bias will make the car less stable under heavy braking ...
but wouldn't the rear end want to come around under too much front bias, not rear bias?

Being pretty bold for a noob aren't you. This has been discussed before.
When people first starting getting interested in getting BBK for these cars. Search the archives from a few years back. I think the outcome of the discussion was that there was something back there that does not allow the front caliper to be installed in the rear. If I recall correctly, it has nothing to do with the parking brake.

absolutely no reason why you couldn't...
you'd need to fabricate some brackets.
Don't know what it would do to the brake bias.
The additional clamp force of the larger rotors might be unnecessary on the rear.
What you really want on the rear, instead of increased clamp force, is to reduce fade.
