question with programming the remote on the key...
I recently had the door handle mod done. For those who are not familiar, it replaces the front driver side door handle with a rear door handle, eliminating a key hole and lock cylinder.
Anyhow, I also got a new key, my old one was stolen with the car...now in order to program the remote one key needs to be placed in the ignition and the other into the driver side door. Now without that lock cylinder, is it possible to program this key through the trunk lock?
I haven't had a chance to try it because the auto body place that was doing this for me sent the new key back thinking it was a problem with the key. When I had asked an Audi technician, he claimed it was impossible without the driver side lock cylinder.
Any thoughts??
Thanks!
