question: will charging my cell with my car charger for a few hours while
the car is not running drain the battery? How long is it safe to plug something into the cig. lighter w/o the car running? TIA

I've done it, only about 2 hours and phone was fully charged, depends on the health of battery.
We have used the car batteries (a fellow competitor with an A4 wagon) ran the inverter/laptop/timer at a rally cross last winter, although they DID start the car midway through, (mainly for heat/etc) so I'd say 3 hours is ok IMHO

yes you really can... my car used to smell like **** and now there is no real smell.
I have them all over my house also and it really helps. I dont smoke in my car ut a friend of mine smokes in his car and has one and you can not smell it one bit. Well worth the $30
