Rear deck wiring for speakers
I posted a thread in the Audio/video subforum but I've realized that that forum doesn't get much action. I'll make it short.
I have a 2001 Audi S4 with Bose Symphony but no rear amp/subwoofer in the trunk. I just installed new 6.5" aftermarket speakers on the rear deck. They are of course 4 ohm each and I have read that the stock Bose speakers are 2 ohm (I've also heard 1 ohm but I think 2 ohm sounds more reasonable). In order to reduce the ohms to 2 and raise the acoustical output, I was thinking of taking one of the two pairs of wires that connect to the speakers and fixing it up so one pair connects both speakers in a parallel circuit. Will this work? I can't seem to find anyone doing anything similar even though it makes sense to me and plenty of people have the same problem.
Thank you

Yes you can do that if you can mount all 4 speakers on the rear deck metal. Should sound awesome and would have great bass

When you guys are putting on the sound deadening material, are you putting it on the external door skins, or just the internal door skins?
Also, could someone clarify the bit about putting a dab of black caulking on the door clips? My concern is that if I do that and then put the door card back on it'll become permanently attached due to the adhesive nature of the caulking.

How does the Kicker bass **** work?
Does anyone know how the Kicker CXARC remote bass **** works?
I already have a generic bass **** (phono jacks with wired to a potentiometer). If the Kicker **** is just a pot, it won't be useful. If it's an analog/digital gain control, then it might be worth the $40.
