Default Request for logs->Headgasket thickness changes. I'd ideally like to

see as many logs as possible for people using the OCT or MTM headgaskets. Of course I'd like to see all the details as well->octane, tuning, other parts, turbos....

Before and afters of them on the same car would be ideal, but I'd like to see whatever you have. I'm seeing some hints that the squish area is all screwed and the knock is actually being *increased* on pump gas. Any input/observations would be welcome.

Default My guess is knock is not increased but the knock sensor activity is increased. When/if i pull my

motor again, i'll probably put the stock ones back on. My car has never pinged but my knock sensors read high.

Default Did correction factors go up/timing go down as well or was the ECU smart enough to determine that it

wasn't actual knock?

Default ? 'splain. In this case I don't see why the activity wouldn't be a sign of

the lessened resistance to detonation? Speak to me.... ;-)

Default Once again over analyzing. Don't put them on now. Wait until you do the heads IMO. That way you

have before and after.

Default Oh yeah->thanks for the info btw. It sorta correlates with what I'm hearing from others who

don't post here. I'm likely to stick with the stockers for now as well.

Default Heh. Just curious. I'm gonna go the stocker route for now. I'm gonna sell

the MTMs, since I'm gonna mod the heads a bit and get some CCs from some of that. Still have to decide on the studs.

Default That's the whole thing that DAP is collecting data on and once I can get him some logs I will. KV

and CF don't seem to have any kind of direct collelation. I can saturate my knock sensors and still have single digit CFs...I can be 100+ octane with no change to knock sensor activity...

It's going to require lots of logging on various settings to show it but I've observed the same thing DAP is hypothesizing.

Yes IMO. With the boost you are going to be running it can't hurt anything.
