Brake light and rear light shares the same slot in the rear light assembly, it is a two filament bulb. Which means, when you turn your lights on, they are suppose to be lite and will only become brighter when the brake paddle is depressed.

"Brake Light" indicator in the center display indicates that one of your brake light bulb is out, and if I am understanding you correctly, that when you turn the lights on, the passanger is lite but the driver side is not, it is the driver side that's burned out and that's malfunctioning, there nothing wrong with the passanger side rear light.

The sequence of the rear light assembly goes as follow:

TOP
Rear Fog light/Driver side only, unless modifications has been done.
Signal light
Back-Up light
Rear light/Brake light
DOWN

no the brake light on the right is brighter then the left when the brake is not pressed and then when the brake is pressed it's the same brightness as the left.

I would start by swapping the bulbs and see if it is a bulb issue, as I think you may have an incorrect bulb there.

Is your third brake light working ? If not, it can cause the "Brake Light" warning to come on as well.
