0-60 stock was 4.9, in '84. I don't think that's particularly slow.
Plus that engine is the best Audi ever built, IMO. Granted it's very difficult to find parts for, but it's ripe for tuning. A bit squirrely in turns as a result of the SWB, but a collectible icon none-the-less.

It way predated the UrS4. Not even the same body style.
It's a SWB version of the Ur Quattro, or Turbo Quattro Coupe, which itself, is a coupe version of the 4000 Quattro. It was actually built for rallying in the WRC in the mid-eighties. Maybe you knew all this, I'd jus hate to go around giving people wrong impressions. :-)

A2 and Sport Q and UrQ were all used in the rallyes.
UrQ and SportQ both had road going versions.
A2 was just an UrQ with some body kit and some engine work, lightened and set up for the rallyes, with a custom dash and tons of great gauges. I have a pseudo A2 I'm working on right now, actually. It's an UrQ with A2 body panels, Gruppe B bushings and a gutted and cutomized interior. Should be a hoot when it's done, and it will probably shame most if not all cars on this forum, at least in terms of performance. But it won't be a very good daily driver. It's designed for the track.
To further the history lesson, UrQ's were imported from '83-'85 with some random '82's making it here as well. The UrS4's/S6's were available from '92 to '96 in N.A., along with a couple of Canadian '97's, and the body style was the immediate predecessor of the C5 A6(98-2003), with similar dimensions. Thus the first S4's were actually larger than the B5 and B6 cars, and sported the 20vt 5cyl 2.2l engine(AAN).
The UrQ in the U.S. shared the 10vt 2.2l 5cyl. platform(WX) with the same generation turbo 5000's, although the European UrQ's from '89-'91 had the early 20vt's(RR, similar to the 3B which was in the U.S. 200Q's in '91), which differed on some key levels from the UrS 20vt's in configuration. The SportQ's had the first 20vt's(I forget the engine code), but displacement was only 2.1l. They made 306hp ATC, the UrQ made 160, and the UrS4/S6 with its distributor-less/direct ignition 20vt made 227.
IMO, the 5cyl 20vt's are the best engines Audi ever made. Shame they sold the rights to Volvo in the mid nineties. They are easily tuneable, and can be transplanted into most pre-96 cars with a bit of shoehorn-ing. I just finished putting an UrS(AAN) engine into my UrQ.
Older Audi's are fun-fun, although they can be as cantankerous to maintain, if not more so, than the new ones. Granted, we're talking apples and oranges, but if I had to pick, I'd choose an older S4/S6 over a new S4. I guess that's why I defected and why my b5 S4 is for sale. ;-)
Here endeth the epistle.
Cheers,
