Default Great, thank you very much for a real reply to my questions...

I do realize how tight it is in there and this is why I am here asking these questions. I am fine with just going K04's (if I could find them) for now until I save for something else. I have BTDT with buying too big of turbo's and waiting to 5K rpm to get boost but with this engine I feel the K04's are also to small and so far all I have seen is cold side changes using the K04 hot side. The K04 hot side is tiny and it would be nice to start looking at other options, I was suprised to see that there weren't more who have experimented with this. I am not trying to act like I know anything about this car because I have way to much to learn and it is all new to me but I have STFA and there just isn't much on alternatives to the K04's and K04 hybrids. I am also working with evergreen turbo on ideas and he thinks he can build some K03's to out perform the K04's so that might be a future option as well. I'm just stirring the pot here because it smells burnt and I want something fresh.

Elijah

Default Have you checked Audspeed on ebay. Last time I checked he had some K04's

he's pretty cheap too. There aren't many turbo offerings out there yet. I think once there are more Garrett turbo kits on the market and people start to peice them together the price will drop and they will become more affordable and a more viable option over the K04's. The RS6/K04s seem to be the way to go at the moment if you want to push your engine internals to the max without completely breaking the bank. The Garrett turbos will be the next step beyond that, but so far we've only seen the very tip of the iceberge, so to speak. They are too new to truely be "affordable".

Default Will have to have custom down pipes but other then that they will bolt up. Main problem is the lag

Lag on the RS6 turbos is quite a bit more then on K04's. Randy Pobst was talking to Pat Socal about it. The RS6 turbos actually came from the Champion S4 WCGT car. He said the lag was pretty bad on the the car.

I would suggest KO4 or hybrids.

Thanks, so the turbo's will bolt up to the stock manifold and RS4 intake pipes?

to my understanding, yes. I actually looked into it but the lag issue was not what I wanted.
