<center><img src="http://pabs911.250free.com/DSCF1115.jpg"></center><p>THE BOLLOCKS @ THE S4 SHOOTOUT LACR DRAGS!
Timeslips, trap time, 60 foot, reaction time, grip, altitude, low end torque, tire temps, air temps, shift points, horsepower, curb weight, nos, rowing skilz, etc. etc.. What does it all mean?
Interesting stuff, but I thought the 1/4 mile was about who gets there first.
Trap speed seems to me to be a mixed bag of info. I would guess that if you had two cars that were exactly the same in evey way save one (we're talking theory here guys so hang with me), that one thing being that one car had more low end torque than the other even though their max torque was the same (HP too), which car would probably get to the wire sooner? Would they tie anyway? Ari just said that it is common for him to have faster trap times mated with poor 60 foots. WTF? I've read this on this forum a few times before, but I can't explain it.
Also, something interesting happened at the Shootout. Ari tried to use NOS on his early runs, but was having trouble with his launches. Then he says f-it and runs clean and posts a killer time... and on regular street tires no less! The Bollocks had more HP than Ari and Hoosiers to boot! There is definitely more to this drag racing than meets the eye, with these Audis anyway.
Some people think trap times are where it's at. Others say trap speed is what they want. Others look for raw horsepower and grip. WTF?
If I keep scratching my head like this I'll lose ALL my hair! Weigh in, PLEASE!

Personally, I think the 1/4 is a test of what the car is capable of
in a straight line with a particular driver. Sure there are outside factors that will have their effect, but it is still a fair measurement that in some cases comes down to the driver and their skills.

enh, it's a street car so it's pretty much irrelevant about lap times or trap speeds or 1/4 times...
since that's probably .02% of what the car will spend its life doing (your mileage may vary).
I'd say reliability and enjoyable driving experience would be pretty high on the list since there are no trophies for getting to the end of the block first.
