S4 won't start

S4 won't start
First off I am a complete novice when it comes to the working of a car, or in this case the lack of working.
My S4 won't start this morning. If I put the key in and turn it once (this normally gets the power on, for things like the radio) then there is a continuous metallic clicking sound, the dash board lights start to blink and the rev counter goes up and down. Any ideas what this could be. Is it something as simple as the battery ? If so then is this even covered under the warranty ? I suspect not but thought I'd ask. I bought the car in Feb 2002 so it is still under warranty.
Any ideas ?
Thanks.

Re: S4 won't start - correction
Ok,
I don't think that it is the battery since when I turn the key once all the power is on. Windows work fine..1 touch up and down. Radio..well it would work fine but it is in safe mode and I have no idea where I put the code :-( The clicking sound happens when I try and start the car. There is not even a turning over sound...just dead..and the metallic clicking.
So, any ideas.
By the way...no lights left on at all. Start ok first thing this morning. Went to play tennis and 3 hours later...car won't start.

Still sounds like battery
That would explain why the radio is asking for the code. The clicking is likely from a starter that doesn't have enough juice to turn over.
Find someone to give you a jump. The worst that will happen is that you elminate the battery as a cause.
