Default serious car problem. HELP! ....btw, it's been a while

hey, y'all,

it's been a while since i have visited this forum. it has been a crazy few months and would take literally hours to explain all hardships that have come this way.

anyway, i am having some issues with my 02 tip. i was coming home from the airport and was in chipped mode (i have the APR chip along with a tip chip). acclerating from a red light, i got up to about 35 and my car suddenly dropped in power and started to decelerate even as i had my foot on the gas. this happened a couple of times, so i stopped. sitting at idle, my rpms wavered from 600 to 1000. i first suspected it was my tip chip going crazy, so i switched my ECU chip to stock. no problems EXCEPT lack of pickup than norm and the fact that even as i passed 60 and 70, i was stuck in 4th and not switching up (when i flipped over to tip mode to check).

i don't know what is up. i have a VAG but have to wait to get my laptop back to check if any fault codes.

any ideas what is going on? i then switched to chipped mode and repeat of car issues. dang, this really stinks.

i hope to hear from y'all who know what is going on. you can just reply to this post or email me at s4indaworks@yahoo.com. thanks. take care.

16889 cylinder 5 misfire detected
35-00 -
17965 charge pressure control: positive deviation

here they are. i am told by someone i know that this is probably a coilpack gone bad and not related at all to my ECU or tip chip. let me know what y'all think. thanks.

Default I've also ben having alot of problems with my S4. Lost of boost. Sometimes

constant, sometimes random. One time, the car even died on me, similar to what you explained. From everything I've read on the forum, it sounds like several things can cause problems if you loose boost and feel like a normal V6 without turbos.

Mass Air Flow Sensor, TBB, BPVs, spark plugs, etc. The first thing you should do is hooking up to a VAG and checking for codes. The guys on the forum should then be able to help you out better. You can also try returning to stock chip mode and disconnecting your batter for 5-10 mins to reset the ECU and error codes. This will bring your car back to baseline - and maybe easier to troubleshoot.
In my case, I'll lose boost and eventually my check engine light with come on. Are you still under warranty?

i am taking my ride in tomorrow for the dealer to handle. i hope they don't tell me that my chips are to blame and then i have to pay for it. oh, well, as so many have said on this forum, you play and you might have to pay.
