Default sh*t !!!! diagnostic warning light on... what to do?

After 2.5 weeks of not touching my car (was out of town, and then in the hospital and down for the last week), I mustered all of my strength to take a short drive.... start it up, lots of smoke out the back, which went away quickly, i revved it, and i get a very quick rev, and then back to silence, then sound... (know what I menan?). The diagnostic warning light thing was on, I took it down the driveway (half mile or so), then turned around and took it back up - shut it down and SCREAMED for a solid minute or ten. Took the weekend warrior out for a quick romping, then came back, and screamed again! Anyway, what could this be?

Default *sigh*, don't own one...

but during my brief drive - it idled somewhat rough, and when I applied the brakes, they felt lumpy... could this just be from non-use?

Default My bet is a misfire in one or more of the cylinders caused the DTC....

...happened once to me. Cleared the code (thanks Daphne!) and the code has never returned.
