so I want to try to fix this myself. If I move the tips by had (like when polishing them), I can hear a squeak coming from somewhere underneath. This noise is very audible over bumpy roads, so I want to fix it. Has anyone had this prob? Is something loose or do I need to lube something?
I don't have a lift, so it's not very easy for me to get under there and see what's goin on. Maybe this is the excuse I need to get a new exhaust.

Will a silicone spray lube be safe for this?

I had this on my 98 A4. Check the rearmost hanger - mine was corroded right off the exhaust pipe. But it was hard to notice since the actual rubber hanger was keeping it in place. I just removed it to no ill effect.
