Okay, I've read a lot of "the best" threads out there for Chips & exhausts. My question is:

What is the best chip/exhaust combo?

Another question is - when I blow up my K3's I'd like to replace them with the K4's, will I be able to use the same chip when I replace the turbo's?

best is subjective, what are you looking for? K04s CAN run on the k03 software w/ lemmiwinks tweaks

I personally like the GIAC chip, it gains the most HP/Torque from most dyno's. It is really all opinion based though, the GIAC x-chip does have lag spikes. I'm sure others are more smooth. As for exhaust, again opinion based depending on how loud you want it as there is limited power gains from just a cat back. If you want quite go with the milltek single.

I have a boost gauge in my car - it spikes to about 8-9 lbs of boost when first on the throtle in stock trim & lags off to about 6-7 or so when full throttle for the remainder to redline.

What kind of boost will the chip give?
