Specs on new M3 released in UK
Released by BMW to UK dealers on Friday:
Guide price £38,500 (M5 is £60,000)
Spec will be same as 330CI plus
- M Sports Seats with Electric and Memory Function

Performance
They state against 911 and RS4. 0-62 & 0-124
M3 5.2 18.2
911 5.2 19.3
RS4 4.9 20.0
They state 0-1000m in 24.2. BTW Ferrari 355 F1 Berlinetta does it in 24.5 (Obviously not tested under same conditions so it is not directly comparable).
Two additional colours
Laguna Seca blue & Pheonix yellow
pricing, spec and options in full in three weeks.
Delivery late Feb early March, but still not confirmed
BTW, BMW AG claim that the M3 will quicker to 100 kmh than the M5, "making it the most accelerative M car ever" (They don't consider the Z8 to be an M car). They claim 5.2 for the M3 & 5.3 for the M5 for 0-100 km/h (62.5 Mph). However, BMW NA claim 4.8 for the M5 because of BMW AG's conservative nature & the fact that all performance claims are done with DSC on.

Here are pictures of both colors.

This is Phoenix Yellow:

If you ask me, neither holds a candle to Nogaro or Imola.

Thx for the pix...I guess BWM is going the 'subdued' route...
I agree...these colours do not make the M stand out from regular 3s the way Nogaro & Imola get your attention.
Audi definitely had the right approach...when dropping this much money on a car, you do want the option to be as conspicuous as possible!
Personally, I chose black since I do not want to be noticed by the boys in blue, but I do appreciate the fact that I could have gotten Nogaro or Imola.
Esp here in the Northeast, BMW is rapidly becoming 'common'...everybody seems to have a silver 323...I'm so glad I got the S4!
Neville Soares
