stock heat shields on aftermarket downpipes?

stock heat shields on aftermarket downpipes?
What heat shields do you guys use on aftermarket downpipes? I reinstalled the stock heat shields on my APR downpipes but there's a large gap without the stock upper cat. I wonder if heat wrap would work better and give more clearance.

I have heat wrap AND modified stock heat shields on LaBrees
It works I guess, but difference in underhood temp is so minimal that it is probably not worth the time and expense
