Default Thinking about defecting...

from the Audi community. I have a stock 2001.5 Tiptronic coming off lease early next spring and had originally planned to move on to a B6 S4. With all the issues around the new S4, however, I've decided against it.
I'm actually taking a *very* hard look at the Infiniti G35 coupe with their version of the tiptronic. The inside isn't as nice as my S, but I've always loved the 2+2 coupe style vs. the sedan. (Wife picked up an SUV, do I don't need 4 doors anymore.)The fact that the G35 is about $12K less than the new S4 doesn't hurt either.
Anyway, my question: I haven't driven one yet, has anyone here driven one? I'm wondering if I will be disappointed from a performance standpoint. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts as to whether I'd notice a hit in performance?

Default If your S4 is stock and you get the G35 six speed, probably not. And it will probably handle better

too. I've only driven the auto G35 Coupe, but I didn't miss the feel of my S4 after hopping between cars. It feels different, but not worse by any stretch.

It does now, but they've still kept the rear wheel bias.

Default I drove a 6-spd coupe - it impressed me - but not nearly.....

as nice as the S4 in my opinion.

The 2 things that stood out most to me were the nice stock shifter (no issue if you're looking at auto) and the nice exhaust sound.

Performance was OK - not the same kick in the pants feeling as a turbo car....

Very nice car for the money. Ditto to the comment below, it is not a German car and you can tell.

Default I think theG35 coupe is one of the most beautiful cars made.......

Drives very nicely. If you've ever driven a Porsche 911, the G35 feels very much like that in terms of the engine and shifter. Ride is smoother than the 911. Do the followings mods on the car: Nismo intake, headers, Stillen exhaust, random technology high flow cats, Nismo lightened flywheel, Nismo cams. You'll have a normally aspirated engine putting out about 330-340hp. The cars looks absolutely sinister in black!!!
