Default Huh? I am trying to understand. Are you saying he accidently hit 29 psi a couple times? Or that he

ran 29 psi for 100k miles....?

Default while I am glad to hear that you run

significantly more than I am about to do, your few thousand miles just not enough to make that assumption that it is safe.

I guess my safety margins are much wider than for many members here.

Default Re: I'm using VW/Audi G12 mixed 50/50 w/water.

As silly as it sounds, you might be evaporating your water/coolant due to this low boiling point coolant mix and system not being tight. Just a guess

Default Evaporating means its open somewhere. And open somewhere means...

I should be able to see the pink crusties. So far, I haven't been able to find any.

As I said in the deleted thread, oil analysis prior to the headgasket and rear main seal replacement showed coolant contamination in the oil (but oddly the coolant doesn't appear to be contaminated with oil so it only seems to be flowing one way).

I'm awaiting more oil analysis results.

an open in the system could be very minimal just enough to loose the pressure, thus lowering boiling point of the mixture. Is your overflow hose ever wet?

Not that I've noticed.
