Thinking out loud. If my turbos go, and I have extended warranty...
will the warranty cover KO4s if I cover the balance for the extra cost and equipment? Since KO4s are genuine Audi equipment, are there tuners out there that will work with me and my warranty? Wondering if anyone has ever gotten this done. TIA!

The answers are all yes (more)
But they will not knowingly pay for higher performance turbos. What has to happen is that your mechanic gets authorized to replace them with K03's, receives payment, and then just used that money to buy K04's instead.
Since there's no real $$ difference, it winds up costing you nothing except the extra plumbing required (plus new ECU, etc. that you want to do).
