Wondering if you could give me pointers on getting the salesperson down despite the fact that the car is a hot item. I'm guessing dealer inventory and geographical location have to do with it. Does anyone know of a dealer and dealership in the Boston area they respect?

Default More and more cars on on lots. Offer them under and see...

you can get sticker anywhere. Maybe they want to move a unit. When I bought there were no others so I was stuck. The longer you wait the more may pile up in lots. Especially in the north where weather is getting crummy and no one wants to trash their new baby. -Pete

Order early, place a deposit, wait, and choose a location that doesn't sell a lot of S4s.

Openly request bids from surrounding dealers with a firm purchase date, saved me $1000!

This is how I did w/$2400 off list. First check if there are few dealers within 30mi radius of your home. Go to the one in the mid point to test drive the car. If they offer you list, said you love the car, but he is too far from you when you needed service. Plus you could pay list with a dealer closer. Now take the sales' name. Then go to the dealer you want to shop and say "Joe from soso" (they know each other) offer you list and throw in the nag sys,(lie) its a good deal but he's too far and you don't need the nag sys. And if he could do better than that, you got a deal. If not go to the one that's furthest from you and say you'll go anywhere for a good price.
I've got 2 places into a bidding war. The furthest place had offered $3100 off list but not the color I want. I'm picking up my Nogero/Silver tomorrow 2pm. and dive to a supermarket to pickup a turkey.

I found the smaller "out of the way" dealerships were willing to deal...use the phone. I Decided to buy one 3 weeks ago and it is in my driveway now. I am in Northern VA. but bought in Dover Del. The dealer "traded" one he had on the lot for one in NJ with the options I wanted. I paid $2400 below sticker.

Excellent suggestion. Very intriguing negotiations tactics.
