Default Tip Owners "When Chipping should I chip the Tip also?"

If I chip will the extra torque cause unnecessary strain on the trans and does the Tip chip solve this dilemma. Or is the Tip chip even necessary?

Comments please

TIA

Tip chip is a must when doing the ECU chip.

This is going to get expensive
$1145 for the GIAC with ECU + $300 for the Tip Chip

I guess I gotta convince the wife it's the best use of our resources. Ya Right

Default The Tip chip will

increase the clamping power on the clutches. This will reduce the amount of heat they produce increasing longevity.

So it sounds like the first upgrade should be the Tip Chip for improved performance and longevity. Then I could fenagle the ECU and chip at a later date.

Thoughts?

Default I'd go with the exhaust first

Then the Tip chip

Then some valves and/or bi-pipe

Then the ECU upgrade.

Do you have a 2002/AA box? If so, I am thinking about selling my X-Chip w/ecu.

Default I asked this a while ago but since we're back on the topic ...

If I have an ABT chip, should I get a tip chip as well? TIA Elliot

No I have a 2001. Why do you want to sell yours? Problems? Issues?

Want to do one that can be switched off and on for track and such. BTW, I wouldn't get exhaust first as others suggested, I just got VM3 and am missing stock already.
