Tiptronic ECU Chip
If I get the GIAC chip, which I found best suitable unless someone recommends another, Do they modify the shift delay with the 75hp chip, or do you have to get the 75hp chip AND the shift delay modification?

Re: Whats shift delay?
reduces the delay between shifting, the manufacturers cut back the throttle to preserve the drive train, i guess that can be modified from a 1 sec delay to .2 sec delay between shifting. Is this a seperate modification from the 75 hp chip?

Yes it is a seperate chip.
The +/-75 hp chip is for the ECU=Engine Computer(located under the hood infront of the steering wheel) and the 'shift delay reduction chip' GIAC Tip chip goes in the TCU=Transmission Computer(which is located under the passanger side floor board)

Oh lol the way you put it...........
yes the engine chip and the tip are different. Tip ECU is under passenger sides feet. You can get them separate.
You mean reduce shifts sounded like you were saying delaying shifts.

Re: Yes it is a seperate chip.
would this TCU chip reduce the life of the transmission substancially pushing and extra 75 hp, or do you think it is even bothered by it?

There are many different opinions/experiences on both chips...
Some say they have fried trannys and torque converters because of the increased torque and possibly the Tip chip. But personally I don't think the Tip chip does any harm, exceeding the tranny torque limit is probably a bigger problem. but thats just my opinion. A big factor is the individuals driving style

I had a tranny shop say that with the extra power, the quicker shifts ....
reduce the amount of slipping and it actually helps the tranny. But as AUDIS4BI says, there are differing opinions
