Is this true that cops have a device that detects radar detectors??
I got pulled over lastnight and when the cop came to get my info he said he detected that I had a radar detector. I had my V1 hidden under my rear view and suprisingly he couldn't find it. On my ticket he even wrote that I had a detector in use. Today after I told someone the story they said that they have devices now that can detect a radar detector. Is this true? Anyone know why they right on the ticket that a detector is in use?

Yes... read-up on VG2.
Also, if you have a V1 the cop detected it, let valentine1.com know about it.

Radar detectors are legal is Mass. Did he actually search your car or just look around?
Did he lean in or go through an open door?
Virginia and Wash DC are the only states/dstricts whre radar detectors are illegal.
Remember, at a traffic stop, you do not have to answer any questions or talk to the cop in any way. Hand him what he requests (insurance, license, etc) and you can never say a word.
Why he finds it his right to question you about your possesion or use of a legal item is beyond me.

he put a flashlight in through my open window....
He said: " I know you have a radar detector but I can't seem to find it". I wanted to laugh my a$$ of becasue it was right under my rearview. I was going to ask him why it was such a big deal for me to have one but I figured after having a few drinks at the club it wasn't a good time to start asking questions.
