Default Um, err... any advice would be welcome->

Just got back from a late-night drive with enough toluene to bring the octane to 104-- running 104 programming on my APR Stage 3 kit.

Holy sh*t. I thought this b*tch was fast before. 3rd gear felt like second-- I hit the rev limiter before I could figure out what was going on. Unbelieveable. No expalnation marks-- I'm floored.

Please let me know how bad this stuff is and what damage I am doing to my car-- *before* I get another fix. O.M.G. :-O

Don't think it should be bad, as long as you make sure you really are mixing it to be 104

Default How much did you add? I wouldn't go much more than 10%-20%

You should be fine. I run 30% mixed with 93 on a regular basis.

BTW, how are you launching the Spec 2?

Default To get 104 when adding 114 to 93, it takes > 1/1.

I knew it was wrong. :P

I'm abusing the crap out of my clutch for ridiculous launches ;-)

But really, the Spec 2 clutch is rock solid. With all this power, I was slipping the clutch around 3k and shifting <real> quick-- 2nd happens before you can say, "holy crap!"

I was thinking, "Why's it bogging?" Then I realized... Doh! Rev limiter! Too much! Yeeeehawww!!!

Default Ooops. I misread. I thought you were adding Toluene TO 104. In that case, I wouldn't exceed 30%.

50% may be a bit much. Does it hesitiate when started cold?

Default I wonder how different it really is, since 100-104 gasolines are only about 50% actual gasoline

the rest is some chemical makeup.

So running all 104, you have 50% chemicals.

Running an even 93 and Toluene(114) mix, you have 50% chemicals.

Of course, what those chemicals are, and how they are designed for an engine is a different story, but just thought the above was kinda interesting
