Default what are the best brake pads for the S4?

I heard Pagid were pretty good. I'm looking for some high performance pads that won't squeak or chew up the rotors. Any suggestions?

Default What do you call squeaking?

Pagid blues are pretty bad from a squeak point-of-view when it's cool outside, I'd go with Pagid Blacks (4-2-1) or Oranges if you're driving more aggressively with blues in the rear.

Everything squeaks under certain conditions, except the lame environmentally-safe dust-producing weirdo pads that Audi uses for their OEM compound.

By the way, is there a ceramic retro kit for the 996-C2 chassis?

I'm not sure about the C2, but there is one for the C4. BTW, which ones are better, Pagid Blacks or Oranges?

Default PAGID orange for the track, Blue or Hawk HPS for the street

NO rotor wear.

Default Pagid Blue do not squeak at any temp, they are rotor friendly.

I've used them for years on my, 3 season driven, Carrera 3 RS. Their only drawback is lots of dust(comparable to S4 oem pads) and price. The car is mostly street driven with an ocasional DE. They work great in this application.

Default No "better" but...

I've run both, and the blacks are more versatile. The oranges have lots of initial bite and are a hard compound, but their characteristics seem to change significantly as they heat up. The blacks are much more linear regardless of heat level. They do not bite as nicely as the oranges, however, and don't last quite as long.

Just asked about the C2 since the GT3 uses the C2 caliper bracket offsets.

Default Pagid Blues squeak on partial app at low ambient temp...

... hence they squeak on fall mornings in Chicago.

Ran them in Alcon four-pistons on the rear of an A4, ran them in Porsche brakes. Both times, squeaky at 40F outside temp until warm.
