Could be a bleed screw for coolant system. I am not sure how the screw looks like in its entirety, but I know that it is about the same size, it is a hex and has a seal on its base. Yours also has a signs of collant/corrosion on its thread.
It goes right in front of intake manifold and screws into the block.
