You've seen this thing break?

I find that difficult to believe since so many people have them and not one person has reported problems with it.

Don't know them really. I was just stating that a 2.5 ton jackstand should be adequate.

I was assuming it wasn't going to break : )

Sears seem good quality for money...Whats ur opinion? Do you use their jack stands too?

yep...I got my stuff around christmas, so there wasn't much to choose from

my jack is a bit beefy. I'd like a smaller one, but mine fits under the car and works well. I have the 3 ton jack stands. There are some better deals on harborfrieght for stands and jacks. Even Autozone has some nice stuff too. Saw a nice jack there last time I was in AZ.

Here's a nice set of stands -
