What seems to be the best Brake pad replacement for
street use. I don't think I want to put Audi replacements on. The car is not going to be tracked, but it is going to be sold and I want it to have new pads.

We offer many choices.
The Mintex and PBR have been real popular and a great choice for everday driving.<ul><li><a href="http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Audi&engine=2.7T&mod el=B5%20S4&submodel=&category=Braking">ECS S4 brake page.</a></li></ul>

Re: What seems to be the best Brake pad replacement for
For street use I would opt for the Hawk (HPS) over the Mintex---
I experienced pad build up on the rotors with the Mintex(pulsing brake pedal issue) that was easy to "fix" (re-bedding) but the issue would alway return---No issue with the Hawk pads...Both used with new OEM rotors.

I put Mintex Reds on the rear of a Passat (solid discs) and don't really see any benefit over stock.
I got them as I had read they were less dusting vs stock, but IMO they dust just as much, the only difference is that the color of the dust is somewhat ligher (brownish-grey) than the black dust of the OEM pads. YMMV - they are fine pads for the $, just didn't produce the lower dusting results I had hoped for in my application.
