whats the best way to take the front o2 sensor apart?

Default whats the best way to take the front o2 sensor apart?

Default Someone posted on this a few days ago.

Easiest is to cut off the VW connectors and buy new ones from Audi. Or, you can do like I did and use a flatened piece of solid wire and slide it between the ear on the pin and the connector to release it. But it's a PITA.

i just did a search and found the post from a few days back. i've got the part number, going to order it from the dealer on wed.

Default Honestly, that's probably the best. I didn't know you could get just the connectors

when I did mine, or that's the route I would have taken. It wasn't easy releasing the pin tabs. Another alternative..I undertand that the dealers have a kit that includes the tool to release the pins. Maybe you could bring them to the dealer and they would swap then for a minimal fee, but I bet the new connectors would be the cheaper way to go. I tried buying just the tool but they said it wasn't sold sans kit.

thanks its the best approach. ive figured out how they are locked in, even knowing it its still a pain.
