Default Explained....

A biturbo is one turbo dedicated to each bank of cylinders (half of the V). A twin turbo is two turbochargers for all cylinders. Usually in twin turbo setups, you have one turbo (somewhat small) that kicks in at low RPMs and then a bigger one that kicks in at mid revs. Still, you have 2 turbos pushing all cylinders. In biturbo setups, each turbo pushes one-half of the cylinders. Make sense?

Nope...It's just European slang for twin turbo, means the same thing.

Also, they wanted to keep the Italian word, just like Quattro. (Remember the Maserati Biturbo?)
