Why wont a 2001 Transmission ECU work with a 2000?
Got a 2001 trans ECU that ends with DL, tried installing into my 2000 s4, but the stock ECU ended with BS.
Shouldn't it work either way?

How do I go about recoding mine?
For some reason it totally failed, no signal at all. Installed the 2001 TCU and a signal was detected, but obviously didn't work.
I already ordered a new TCU off a 2000, but if I could recode mine and save $$ thats always great!
