I've had the same problem, actually I still do. I brought it to the dealer for repairs, they said they replaced the mirror and the next night I was out driving and voila, nice bright driver's side mirror reflection. Still doesn't work, but the other two are fine.

but when the excursion is behind you at a stop light is does nothing?
