Would someone tell me what's the ideal offset for 17X8 rims. Thanks!!

Perfect is somewhat in the eye of the beholder - calculate for yourself

Thanks, but I guess my real question is would 17X8 ET48 fit the A4/S4...
by my calculation, compare to a stock S4 wheel (17X7.5, ET 45) a 17X8 ET 48 would stick out 3mm and in 10mm (possible problem)
