X-Chip, first impressions........
Just received an X-chip from AWE to try out.
Had it installed this afternoon and those are my
observations ( i had an APR chip prior to that)
1. It pulls harder than APR, has a little more
in the low end, but after 6k RPM its pretty much
done. APR is much more of higher end chip.
2. X-chip is a lot less civilized, the pull is brutal, and it feels overall faster than APR, and
just as smooth.
3.That sandblasting noise drives me absolutely
crazy! ( stock exhaust). I have a neuspeed on order from AWE, anybody knows if it fixes that
sound? APR didn't sound that way.
4.I have no turbo meter, but i can FEEL that
its running more boost, turbo kick in is MUCH
more defined than APR, so i wouldn't beleive
Garret about their " timing and fuel mapping
improvements". Its faster, more fun, very easy
to brake all four tires loose, but i am sure its
only because its running more boost. It raises
reliability concern, i think those turbos can only
take so much.
Overall, i am 80% sure that i will be keeping it,
its just too much fun to resist.. I mean if reliability would've been my primary concern, I
would've been stock. I only had it for 3-4 hours,
so even throttle adaption is not 100% complete,
i will keep you guys posted- i got 8 days to decide.

Sandblaster be gone !
Installed my Milltek and the dreaded sandblaster noise is gone. I am quite sure that your Neuspeed will take care of that as well.
When I had the stock exhaust and APR, the sandblaster noise was very obvious.
