Engine Rev when auto transmission downshifts

Engine Rev when auto transmission downshifts
2016 Audi A6 3.0T
I have 2 issues which have encountered recently-
1. When I hit the acc there is a slight hesitation especially between 30-40 miles. I also here a small whine from the engine before the car responds.
2. When I let go of the gas pedal before coming the transmission begins to downshift and engine revs up. This all happens smoothly, but the engine revving is new. It never did this before.
I am not sure if either of these are related and what is causing this. Is this transmission related or related to some other component? Need help before I see an Audi specialist.

I think this is only an C7 S6 forum, although not sure. Check if there's a C7 A6 specific forum for better help. I remember seeing the C6 S6 and A5 combined, but were separated with the C7. Good luck.
