Default Spark plug change?

Hi all,
I did a little search on changing my spark plugs and found nothing. (probs just didn't search correctly) I'm sure someone has changed their own and any tips would be appreciated!! Oh, 2021 S6.

Thanks,
Bob

So, nobody has changed their own plugs out there yet? Or is it a real PITA?

Changing plugs on a 2 year old car seems quite early, and most cars of this age will be going to dealers for any servicing. Also petrol S6 cars are not that common, as in Europe (arguably the largest market for Audi) the S6 has only been sold as a diesel.

Hey John,
Actually, they recommend it at 30,000 miles that they are changed. Agreed that seems early but this my first S-car so.....

Thanks,
Bob

Not exactly, 2022 S6 petrol 2.9 V6 TT here, my USA based manual says 3 years or 30,000 miles whichever is first. My pre-paid maintenance schedule says 3 years regardless miles.

Oh, BTW, will you plan to take the opportunity of changing out the spark plug to also clean the potential carbon on the intake valve?
Or is it too early for noticeable carbon to accumulate?
Will dealer do carbon cleaning while they replace spark plugs when my schedule is due?

Thanks.

good questions... i bought a 22 s6 june of last year and purchased the maintenance package as well. have you asked the dealership? the service department? i'd be interested to hear what their input is and hope they'd really take care of you as the customer!

I bought mine last July.

I have not asked dealership about this question yet. I can when my scheduled drop off date of 11/28 comes. Will keep you in the loop.

Default S6 Spark plugs

I brought my '20 S6 in for its 30k prepaid service. All I asked for was the 30K service. The plugs were changed, under warranty, while there.

Just had the 3rd srevice done on my 2021 with 14k miles on it and they changed the plugs, seems ridiculous but that's what audicare states and it's paid for.

I am OK with it for DI.

If I memorize correctly spark plugs are not required to be replaced as frequently after the first replacement, per Audi maintenance schedule booklet included with the purchase pkg.

which makes sense just like first oil change.
