Default Newbie Question... Help me decide

In the market for a pre-owned 08 or 07 Q7

Few questions, tried search but not getting clear answers.

1. What's the major difference between 07, 08 or even 09?

2. Difference between 3.6 and 4.2. Besides V6 and V8, am i getting any additional packages by going with 4.2 Premium?

3. This is what I'm looking for...
Q7 with NAV, Bluetooth, Air Suspension, Keyless Start, Xenon and Park Distance Sensors.
are they standard in all 4.2 Premium? Should I even look at the 3.6?

I have few that i've been checking out at the local dealership, most of them 4.2 premium but all have different packages.... Please help me decide.

Information from Edmunds ... Based on your number 3 you want the Premium package with the adjustable suspension option .. my recommendation if you don't mind the extra fuel cost go for the 4.2 and if you want a little show go for the S Line .. however, its hard to find a 4.2 Premium S Line Package with adjustable suspension .. My favorite options are adjustable suspension, audi assist, adaptive bi-Xenon headlights and rear view camera, keyless ignition and parking assist with MMI functions and the 20" wheels

The Audi Q7 is a luxury crossover SUV that can seat up to seven passengers (third row seating is standard on the V8, optional on the V6 model). For now, there are two styles available: base and Premium. Standard features include 18-inch wheels, adaptive bi-HID headlights, a power rear liftgate, automatic dual-zone climate control, Audi's MMI control interface and a Bose audio system with an in-dash six-CD player. Leather upholstery, three rows of seating with a second-row bench, power front seats and a memory function for the driver seat are also included. The Premium adds 19-inch wheels, a navigation system, park assist with a rearview camera, a large three-panel sunroof, heated front and rear seats, second-row captains' chairs, an additional rear air conditioning unit and satellite radio. An optional "S line" package adds sport seats, unique front and rear fascias and 21-inch alloys wearing performance tires. Most of the Premium features can also be ordered individually on the base Q7. Other standalone options include an air suspension system, 20-inch wheels and advanced adaptive cruise control.

The 2008 Audi Q7 is a luxury crossover SUV that seats between five and seven passengers depending on seating configuration. There are three trim levels: 3.6, 3.6 Premium and 4.2 Premium. Getting the exact collection of features you want can be tricky, as Audi groups a lot of items into specific packages.

The base model comes standard with 18-inch wheels, five-passenger seating, eight-way power front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, Audi's Multi Media Interface (MMI) all-in-one control system and an eight-speaker stereo with a six-CD changer. A base Q7 3.6 with the Comfort Package has a third-row seat, heated front seats, a power tailgate, satellite radio and an upgraded sound system. The 3.6 Premium has those features plus a rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity and auxiliary audio jack with iPod direct connection. One can also add a convenience package to the 3.6 Premium to receive adaptive xenon headlights, driver memory functions and a Bose surround-sound system. The 4.2 Premium offers much of the same features as the 3.6 Premium, but adds that trim's convenience package features plus a standard voice-activated navigation system, four-zone climate control, 20-inch wheels and front parking sensors.

On the Premium trims, the Technology Package includes a blind-spot warning system, lane departure warning system, keyless ignition and voice-activated navigation (on the 3.6 Premium). There's also the Cold Weather package, the Offroad Style Package, a pair of "S line" interior and exterior styling packages and fancier 20- or 21-inch wheels. Stand-alone options include a panoramic sunroof, extra interior leather coverage, four-zone climate control (3.6 Premium), second-row captain's chairs and a towing package. The 4.2 Premium can also be had with an adaptive air suspension and adaptive cruise control.

Powertrains and Performance

Under the hood rests either a 3.6-liter V6 (280 horsepower, 266 pound-feet of torque) or a 4.2-liter V8 (350 hp and 325 lb-ft). A six-speed transmission with manual-shift control is standard on both. All Q7s come with Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system. Although the power plants are certainly strong, the Q7's beefy weight of 5,000-plus pounds blunts performance. Expect a 0-60-mph time of 8.3 seconds for the V8 and about 10 seconds for the V6. Properly equipped, the Q7 can tow 6,600 pounds.

Amazing... Thank you for the info.
I was searching on Google and it was just too much info.
this is great... I guess I see a 4.2 Premium in my future.

Slightly OT, but are you the same "eggyacid" as on the Touareg boards on the Vortex? I made the cross over a couple years ago (mml7) and haven't looked back..went from an anemic V6 Touareg to a gas-guzzling 4.2 Premium. I can't remember all of the packages that were included, but the only major ones I know mine didn't come with were the Automatic cruise control, air suspension and 20's
