Default Square Bottom Steering Wheel

I was severely disappointed that the square bottom steering wheel was no longer available on the US RS5 Models and conducted some research on after market upgrades.

Here's what I've found to be the best solution for upgrading to a square bottom steering wheel. So before slapping my wallet for one large, does anyone have any experience with

Why not install an OEM one for a safety critical part like this.
Loads of people have installed flat bottom wheels from other Audi models on these cars. But atleast you then know they are made by/for Audi.

Do you have hands on detection on your current steering wheel? If so, you have to make sure that you get a replacement wheel that has that as well.

https://shopaskcarbon.com I got my flatbottom CF wheel from them, it's an Audi wheel from I think an RS6 re-trimmed.

Default What I've Found So Far

I was able to find part numbers from Audi for both the square bottom steering wheel and airbag for the 2021 RS5 but nothing more recent. Those parts are not available to the end user. I'll share those part #s if anyone is interested.

Another interesting find is

https://controlcustomsuk.com/

I'm currently in discussion and it appears they use your existing wheel center to build a new custom wheel. Film at eleven!

Default In Conclusion - Maybe

Here's what I know so far:
The flat bottom steering wheel is unable to support all of the new features, like Hands on Detection and Haptic Feedback.

I've looked at 10 different websites and the many offerings, some looking sketchy, and I've decided to go with a 2021 Stock Audi flat bottom steering wheel with the round airbag.

I've ordered the wheel which is coming in from the Motherland to see what's included in the way of switches and buttons before ordering the round airbag. There's only a few dealers that are willing to ship due to the hazardous nature of shipping an exploding device!

I'll use my OBD Eleven to deal with any coding issues.

My new RS5 is on its way from New Jersey to Central Oregon and I have a stack of parts awaiting its arrival. Audi with the Old and Innie with a new!

Happy New Year!

You need a Steering wheel from an RS6/7 and that has all the features your car needs to keep the functions working.

I bought this RS6 one from Europrice. You do lose the "*" button and also can't use the heated wheel since on the RS6 wheel there is no heated wheel button, it is controlled from the MMI and my RS5 does not have that option on MMI. Maybe with coding could get it? Also airbag is way nicer than my stock one.

Yikes have no idea why picture is so big
