Any one notice a creak from their steering rack turned fully left or right?
Hadn't read that precaution in other owners manuals before... but then again, never read as many stupid "don't put sharp things in your eye" safety warnings as in the owners manual either. Cheers!
42N8 TT makes a good point. Hitting the steering lock and then applying more force stresses the hydraulics in the power steering as well as the mechanicals.
FWIW, if you need full lock to maneuver (parking for example), turn the wheel to full lock then backoff half an inch or so (13 mm?) at the steering wheel rim. You achieve max turn without overloading the system.
