My cousin whats to buy 2001 1.8 TT roadster any thoughts

My cousin called and said he saw a 2001 1.8 front wheel dive roadster with 10K miles for $23K, (no extras). The miles seem low, unless they only drove it a few times in summer, but not sure if the price is right.

I drive a 225Q roadster and he is used to mine. I feel I need more power, (have not chipped) so I am not sure how he will feel with less power. Any thoughts.

FWIW, I have a 2001 Front-drive roadster, also with even lower miles (bought it new, but well after the end of the model year.) When I decided I wanted more power, I drove the 225QR and was impressed, not surprisingly. was offered a new '02 a few weeks ago for 8K off sticker, a really good deal. But for various reasons, I decided to stick with what I had. I then installed the GIAC chip. Car also has the Neuspeed turbo intake pipe and a K & N drop in, and now a PES DV. Puinching it from a rolling start in second gear, the car feels a little stronger than the 225QR, to me.
