Two days ago I did some power braking (on a road) and ABS engaged twice. Both times speed did not
Yesterday, I started the car, backed out of the driveway, and then put car in neutral to go back inside and get my sunglasses.
Came back out and car was making a thud-thud-thud-thud-thud sound along with the yellow ABS light on and the red brake warning light was flashing. Drove the car a few hundred feet, no change, so turned car off. Waited a sec, re-started. All seemed fine.
While driving later last night, came to a light and put car in neutral (don't like sitting at a light with foot on clutch) and started hearing the thud-thud-thud-thud sound again (but no ABS or brake warning light). BTW, was near a 7-11 station (not seemingly important, but...). So, light changed to green, so put in gear and sound stopped.
Going to work this am, came by SAME 7-11 station and heard same sound (it isn't the 7-11 station, but it's a damn strange coincidence). UPDATE: car wasn't in neutral at this point.
Read some ABS posts and will try the ghetto trick as I think my aggressive braking may have knocked some dirt loose in the ABS module (brake fluid is new, but did not clear ABS module).
Or, should I take my remaining fluid and have the shop do a COMPLETE flush of my brake lines AND ABS module?
As always, thanks VERY much for the help and advice.
Will just re-bleed (have extra fluid) and ensure no air is in the lines.
It sounds like it's right behind the dash (between firewall and glove box).
Why do you ask?
