Help me out with my mirror problem
well i bought a compass, auto dim.. and i went to the dealer to install it.. they hooked it.. tried a bunch of stuff.. they dont kno how to get it to power on..
has anyone done this that might know how to help me out? is there some kinda hack into sunroof wires?
they said they want to charge me a $400 tech to diag what to do to get it to work.. im not paying that and id bet non of you would either.. what can i do to get it to work? whos done this mod/upgrade before in a 2004?

I added this mod to my '03, the wiring harness exists from the connector station under the lower left A pillar kick panel. I had to add a jumper from a fused/switched source at the fuse panel to power the mirror harness connection in the roof.
The connector at the source end of the harness is a 17 position harness connector, the mating half of that connector does not have the power supply wire terminal in it. I used a computer hard drive cable connector pin, soldered a wire to it and inserted it into the empty connector half at the same terminal position. That wire applied switched +12 volts to the terminal in the roof harness half of the 17 pin harness connector pair.
On the '03 wiring diagram: You need to power the black/blue wire at T17f/3, that's the ORANGE 17 position harness connector, terminal position THREE, at the connector station under the left kick panel. ("T17f - 17-Pin Connector, orange, connector station A-pillar, left.") The mirror circuit ground is already connected via the roof harness.
The other connections on the diagram go to the left and right door controllers, to the reverse switch and the overhead interior light.
I did not connect any of the these other circuits. The mirror works fine with just the power connected.
