Is there any way to put the fog lights on without the normal ones on?

I VAGed my '02 A4 and it worked fine but since then it hasn't worked on my '04 A4 company car or our '04 S4. If you VAG the Canadian settings the fogs become DRLs which I hate. Been many threads on this- you may be able to jury-rig some wiring but it may throw a bunch of codes and not be worth it. I'd love to be able to run fogs with parking lights at dusk, dawn etc to save the Xenons but haven't figured out a way yet. Any one else made something work?????

They changed the ability to do this through the coding in 2003
2002 was the last year you could re-code the fogs to come on without the headlights. As you mention, now the way to do it is via physical means.
On my 2000 S4 I cut a tab off the headlight relay and that allowed the fogs to run without headlights. I would like to run the fogs only as well on my B7, but haven't been bold enough to start cutting wires.
