Default Positions of Cylinders

Hi guys,

a month ago the check engine light showed up, but the car war running just fine, so I thought there is no hurry.
A week ago the check engine light started to blink, the car lost power and the engine was running irregular. At this time I purchase a scan tool and got three codes.

P0300 random misfire
P0302 cylinder 2 misfire
P0306 cylinder 6 misfire

The mehanic wanted to charge me 600 $ to replace six spark plugs and six ignition coils.
I decided to do it by myself.
I bought 6 spark plugs and 2 ignition coils, beacause I just wanted to peplace ignition coil 2 and 6.
After changing the spark plugs there is no change.
Now I want to change the ignition coils on cylinder 2 and 6, but I realised that I do not know how the cylinders are positioned.

Can anyone help me out please?

I believe the cylinders start as #1 passenger side front, then working backwards to the firewall (back of engine compartment). The next row starts #4 (for V6, or #5 for V8).

So it would look like this looking down on the engine, with the front of the car below the diagrams:

V6:

3...6
2...5
1...4

V8:

4...8
3...7
2...6
1...5

Very hard to help out without knowing the year and engine in your car. If it does not have individual coil packs, you are wasting money.

Sorry, I did not have any time to answer earlier, anyway you helped me a lot.
I changed the ignition coils and now it works perfect again.
Thank you very much!

Yeah, you are right, I should have mentioned that it is a 2003 V6 3.0, but the problem is solved by now.
Thank you anyway.
