Pressue test reveals noise at rear of bay

So,

I'm having this weird surging/skipping issue. I cleaned and lubed my DVs and they hold. Changed the plugs to bosch F5DPOR (they came with the car so I decided to use them although the car is almost stock). No MIL/ CEL at the moment, though a couple of weeks ago I got a code on a generic OBD2 reader for P1129 and 30 IIRC. Cleared it and it never came back.

Today, I made my pressure tester and hooked it to a friends electric air compressor w/ 5 gallon tank. The tank has a crappy output (and resevoir) gauge, but at a claimed ~18 I hear nothing except for a slight hiss where the PCV tube is sitting disconnected. At 22~ I hear something coming from the back of the engine bay. It's not the pcv because when I cap it with my thumb the pitch of the noise changes only slightly. I have the oil cap off as well.

What is this noise coming from the back? I thought all the pressurized hoses were at the front and sides of the car. Any hints?

Aaah.. forgot to take offthe PCV hose going to the Y pipe. It was the TBB! Stupid thing. At least I get to fix it with something aftermarket and shiny!

Drop me an email if you want a TBB. I have a blue Venair (www.venair.com) brand new for sale, very similar to Samco. It came with a full hose set but I'll never use it since I have an APR bipipe. Asking $50 plus shipping.

Probably not better but probably not worse, is my guess. I got the kit from Stratmosphere. If you decide not to go with the APR bipipe, keep me in mind. The bipipe is nice, but since it's one solid piece, it introduces some extra work sometimes like when having to move the intake manifold or when installing phenolic spacers.
