MMI won't pair w my new phone.

MMI won't pair w my new phone.
Both my A8L and my S8 paired with any phone I chose to pair except my new (cheap) Samsung slide phone. The phone pairs with my Bluetooth headset just fine. It doesn't see any signal coming from my S8, however. Any ideas short of taking it in to the Stealership?

Dealership won't even help you on this. They will tell you to update your MMI, which I'm sure you already have the newest version. If that doesn't work they will blame the phone and say it is incompatible. (the compatible list hasn't been updated in quite a while) If you are under warranty then for sure stop at the dealer but my guess is it is the phone, try messing with the options in the phone itself as well. And delete the pair and re-pair a new phone, then try with the old one. Regardless you have an A8

HA HA! All good points Brozee. 
I just don't get why my other phone connected so easily and now this one, same mfctr just newer design won't. I will try to pair the old one and the re try the new one again. Maybe my Wife's Atrix will pair?

UPDATE
It seems there IS a problem with my new AT&T planned Samsung POS Evergreen phone. Believe me, I wasn't interested in saving a rain forest, one phone at a time. But I did like the functionality it offered (similar to my previous slider Samsung).

I used to work at both AT&T and Verizon. The only thing they will do to the phone is the same thing you can do, which is go into the options and check for a software upgrade in the phone itself. Even with the upgrade it is unlikely if there is one in the first place, and if there is it is also unlikely it will fix a bluetooth issue. I would spring for a different phone while you still are under the 14 day period.

Ahhh, crap. That's a problem. I bought this in early August so I'm past the 14 day return window. I didn't make this a priority enough early on and now I may be paying for it -- literally.
I really don't want a smart phone with the monthly costs. That's why I just got, what I thought was, the newer version of the Gravity I had before -- just, now with AT&T. Crap.

You have a standard one year warranty on the phone. You can contact samsung for your warranty and tell them that the blue-tooth isn't working properly and you would like to be sent a different phone. Simple as that, a bit of arguing may have to be done but you are under warranty and I am sure the phone is still in perfect shape.
What I would do is go straight back to the AT&T store (make sure it is a corporate store and just tell them your issue, they easily have the ability to do the swap and exchange in store.
