Engine Oil Flashes
Car suddenly came to a stop when driving. attempt to start fails as vehicles tries to start but will not, then engine oil light begins to flash
Please what is wrong. My Local mechanic says the engine oil pump have packed up

the car is Audi A6, 5V, V6, 2.4 Automatic Transmission 1998model .
The local mechanic said the Car is failing compression. Checked fuel line. there is supply to the engine. battery meter is a little above 12volts.
Please i need help pls. the engine oil i use for servicing the car is the recommended engine spec 5w 40.

In general, if the oil level reads full, and the light still comes on and is flashing, you either have a clogged or failed oil pump or sludged up scenario. The sensor could be bad, they certainly do fail. There is a typically a loud, annoying buzzer when all of this occurs. The car 'suddenly came to a stop' would carry deep meaning for me.

My mechanic came and install another engine. he detected that that the gaskete was bad. the engine now jumped timing.
he installed a 2.7litre engine to replace the previous 2.4 engine.
Car is running fine.
Cost some cash.
